Makeover cabinet

I had this wooden cabinet for the last 10 or so years 5 of which it spent holding tools and collecting dust in the garage. It was my daughters when she was little and into purple...I am not so much into purple so it got a makeover. 

I saw on pinterest someone else use scrapbook paper decoupaged onto furniture so I thought my scraps of Prima paper would look nice with the shabby chic look I was going for. It didn't turn out exactly the way I had hoped but for my first furniture makeover I can live with it  =)

When all you have is time from a back injury you come up with all kinds of fun new things to do with paper.

This is my new one page mini album. I used Graphic 45 Alice in Wonderland paper and some vintage prints of the original Alice stories to put this sweet little mini together. I hope at least one of my swap partners likes Alice as much as I do =)

Steamer trunk Mini Album

Here are a few pics of the assembly.

The whole thing is made from 12 x12 chip board, card stock hinges and decorated with some pretty vintage style papers 

The inside of the lid all decorated with an old photo of my mom and me.

A tray to hold the vintage mini tag album and a few other pretty collectables. 

Here is the album that will be kept inside of the steamer trunk.

Hope you get some ideas from these photos and try one yourself.

New Project

I am working on a large project that's all new to me so I decided to document it as I go along.

The idea is to make an old steamer trunk. Hopefully that is what it will be when I am done =)
