Make it Merry Holiday Planner

As requested I finally finished the holiday planner using the Make it Merry kit and it is definitely my favorite kit of them all. I have lots of leftovers to make cards and layout pages for the holidays.

(click the photo to get your kit)

I used Tim Holtz crackle paint on the covers and made the door hanger using a necklace base and a tin
pin from the kit.  So cute!!
I will video the pages and the back of the book (also adorable) hopefully tomorrow and
post it here.

Make your own photo corners

While working on my holiday planner kits for the upcoming Christmas in July sale I wanted photo corners to match my holiday pages. Not an easy thing to find in July! Solution...make my own.

Place a line of double sided tape across the triangle where the pencil is pointing.

Take a piece of scrap paper from the project your working on and place it across the triangle on top of the double sided tape.

Turn over your piece and trim off the patterned paper around the back of your photo corner.

Now you can add a little decorative edge in case your not ready to put a photo in it yet, scuff it up a bit if your going for that aged look.

When your ready to place a photo in the corners just place a little double sided adhesive on the back of your corner, slide in your picture and attach to your photo mat.

Thanks for stopping by!

I found a wooden serving tray at yard sale.
It was a dark brown stain that had lots of scratches in it.
I have been wanting to try out the chalk paint
everyone has been using lately so I paid $3 for the tray
and headed home to experiment.

I wish I had taken a before picture but I got sidetracked and
missed my opportunity. I love the way this turned out so much
that I will be doing this all summer long.
Look out yard sales here I come!!

Isn't this adorable!!!

I cant wait to try this out on the $25 Oak dresser I
got as well.

I will take before and after photos of that project for sure.
